πŸ”Ž Ingredient Investigation & New Eye Cream

I experienced skin irritation to Burts Bees drug store eye creams and decided I needed to look into the ingredients of my skincare a little more carefully. I found Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream and decided to try it out because it is sulfate-free. The eye cream does not have a strong scent and it melts gently into my skin. After about four days of use morning and night, the irritation and milia disappeared from under my eyes!

The main ingredients are paracress extract, squalane, and marine algae complex. The ingredient list has squalane listed third. This is a good sign because typically ingredients are listed in order of the amount used in the product, highest amount of ingredient to lowest amount. The first ingredient listed is water and then Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which is a more natural alternative to chemicals; it is an oily liquid made of palm kernel or coconut oil (source – https://cutt.ly/He976HE).

I recommend looking into this product or in the very least being mindful of your skincare ingredients. It’s freighting to suddenly wake up to skin irritation and it is surely a wake up call to do more research. ❀
