Dermaplaning at Home (Glass Skin pt. 1)

This post is an installment for a two-part series on how to achieve clear glass skin at home. My step one of glass skincare is dermaplaning.

I recommend StackedSkincare’s dermaplaning tool because it is safe to use and has more blade exposed than the typical tool. I believe effectiveness and safety are important components for dermaplaning so I recommend investing in a good tool rather than purchasing a cheap product. The cost of this tool from StackedSkincare is $75.

I use witch hazel after dermaplaning to clean up my face and close my pores.

If you purchase this product, note that changing the blade is tricky. I suggest that you always keep the cover on the blade when changing blades and use a tool to help “hit” it off the wand. The brand has a video on how to use this tool and on how to change the blade on YouTube. I also bought a pack of blade replacements from the site. I clean the tool with rubbing alcohol after each use. The blade needs to get replaced monthly.

Why is Dermaplanning Great for your Skin?

  1. It prevents breakouts
  2. Gets rid of dead skin and peach fuzz
  3. Softens skin
  4. Reduces fine lines

Peach fuzz and facial hair darken and shade your face, this is a major obstacle in the way of achieving glass skin. That’s why I recommend bi-weekly dermaplaning at home as step 1 for glass skin. Let’s have glass skin together! Look forward to my second installment because the products used after this treatment can help you achieve glass skin. ❤

Spa-like Body Care at Home: Anti-Aging Lotion, Lip & Body Scrubs 🌼🌸🍊

It is a fantastic time to do a little spa self-care at home right now. I recommend trying out D-I-Y body scrubs made of olive oil and brown sugar, or perhaps purchasing products.

A body scrub I’ve been enjoying is Mostory Grapefruit Body Scrub. The sea salt texture is coarse enough that I feel like it is restoring my skin. I like that the scrub leaves coconut oil, vitamin C, and vitamin E on my skin so my skin does not feel dry afterward.

I enjoy using it as a final step in my spa shower routine on legs, underarms, and back. I ordered the grapefruit scent from the Mostory line on Amazon. The smell is present yet not overpowering and refreshing, a blend of citrus and grapefruit. The packaging is also nice enough that this scrub would make a nice gift as well. Cost $9.99

Find my affiliate link to the body scrub here:

Another excellent scrub is the Red Roses Sugar lip scrub from NCLA. What I love about this scrub is that it leaves a chapstick like coating on your lips after you wash it off that lasts several hours. It smells so deliciously sweet like roses and strawberries and it has both vitamin C and E.

This lip scrub tastes delicious as well if any accidentally ends up in your mouth. It cost about $18 on Dolls Kill and Revolve.

No spa shower experience is complete without a body lotion and Dr. Barbara Sturm anti-aging body lotion jam-packed with antioxidants is a perfect choice. I’ve read about Dr. Barbara Sturm’s line online and I’ve wanted to try out products for a few months now.

I’m impressed by how nourishing the lotion feels. It sinks into my skin and completely changes the texture of the skin. I still noticed results the next day, and it made my skin plumper and softer immediately. I recommend using this product on your hands and neck especially. It cost around $95 online at several stores. ❤

🍓Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum 🍓

Eminence’s Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum helps plump your skin with rhubarb, strawberry, and honey. This serum also contains aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, and a bio complex made of antioxidants. The strawberry acts as a natural astringent and contains salicylic acid to brighten the skin and gently exfoliate. I decided to try out this product in my skincare rotation because it is more affordable than the Dior plump yet yields similar results.

The texture of the serum feels sticky on my fingers but not on my face. It feels like strawberry juice made if I were to squeeze a handful of strawberries in my hand. The smell is slightly sweet but it disappears over time and is not overpowering. The cost is around $48 for this serum. Do you like Eminence products? ❤

Facial Steamer

The Nanosteamer not only steams your face but it also functions as a towel warmer and humidifier. I love doing sheet masks at home and I thought facial steam seemed like a great addition to my skincare and self-care routine. This steamer recommends only using purified water.

I like that this device is quiet and the length of use is up to you. There are no alarms or sounds to signal anything. The instructions do list timed recommendations ( like a towel becomes fully warmed in about 5 minutes for example). I typically steam my face about 10 minutes. You can also use this product to steam your hair as well. There is an additional facial tool kit to extract pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. I’m immensely happy with it so far and the price is excellent too, only about USD 39. ❤

Le Mieux Exfoliating Cleanser

My esthetician recommended this cleaner to me to tackle skin congestion and breakouts. I have oily skin on my T-zone and primarily on my forehead. I’ve never used this brand before and I was very excited to try it out. I purchased the bottle for about $24 dollars. After two days of use twice a day my forehead pimples have dried up and my forehead feels less congested. I love how silky yet cleansed my skin feels after using this face wash. The product contains salicylic and lactic acids to eliminate excess oil. It also has hyaluronic acid and aloe to cleanse the skin. So far, so good, with this cleanser. Have you ever tried out products from Le Mieux? ❤

DHC Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel

Goodbye Winter Skin, Hello Glowing Youthfulness~ If there is one product you should try this winter I recommend DHC Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel made with algae. It is excellent because there is a fair amount of product and a little goes a long way. Most importantly, it has immediate results.

It smooths out skin texture and adds plumpness back into your skin. I like using it morning and night. The product is thick enough that I do not feel the need to use a moisturizer with it.

The texture is custard-like and it easily melts into your skin. There is no noticeable smell. It is formulated to tone, hydrate, and brighten. Astaxanthin is found in freshwater algae and it can help reduce premature aging. From what I’ve read, this is because Astaxanthin is an antioxidant created by algae under stress. Astaxanthin production allows the algae to survive in extreme conditions and it turns green algae red.

Read more about Astaxanthin here:

DHC’s website also explains that the formulation includes “hyaluronic acid to protect skin’s natural moisture, royal jelly to hydrate and revitalize, and hydrolyzed collagen to impart softness and suppleness.”

Dermstore Body Care Favorite & More

Are you familiar with Dermstore? If you love skincare you should be, they sell premium skincare, body care, hair and skin vitamins, plus more. I’ve created a Dermstore profile page with favorite products saved. One body care product, in particular, is extraordinary, the REN Clean Skincare body serum. Wow, I don’t know what life was before this serum. It has transformed and evened out my skin tremendously.

This coupled with the Glow vitamin I wrote about in my last post has finally taken my body care to a new level. The skin on my body has cleared up. I no longer get back acne or body acne in general, and small breakouts are more infrequent.

The key ingredients are lactic acid, xylitol, and probiotics, to strengthen the skin barrier, improve texture, and increase hydration. I’m delighted and hope to keep up this routine for years to come. ❤

About two months ago I purchased the Korean Bath Mitts that I’ve blogged about being on my wishlist in the past from Amazon. I like using it in the shower with a hydrating body wash. I’ve been enjoying the Soap & Glory line from Walgreens.

Soap & Glory products can also be purchased at Ulta and Target. I have the Oat, Sugar, and Shea Butter Scrub and Magnificoco Clean-A-Colada Body Wash made with coconut and green tea extract. What I love about this scrub is that it doesn’t leave my skin with an oily film and it doesn’t get watery with regular use. There is the perfect amount of scrub that it feels effective yet not abrasive. The body wash works perfectly with the Korean Bath Mitt and leaves my skin hydrated. ❤

Honey Skincare – The sweetest treat 🍯

I have finally tried Farmacy honey skincare. I purchased a few products with the email sign up sale code.

Honey is beneficial for your skin because it is antibacterial, full of antioxidants, and helps create a natural glow.

Honeymoon Glow saved my face. I had a bad breakout and glow brought my skin back to its regular texture. It also made my skin soft and brighter within two uses. The directions state it can be used about two to three times a week. It is a chemical exfoliant made up of AHA/BHA/Flower Acid Blend 14%, hyaluronic acid, and honey.

Another product I adore is the Green Clay face wash. I love how gentle it is yet it also effectively cleans my skin without stripping it or aggressively physically exfoliating. The texture is like butter but without any greasiness. It is an excellent product that I’d recommend or gift anyone. The soft texture also helps dissuade you from tugging at your skin.

The oils (sunflower and ginger root oils) melt away makeup. I hope to purchase the limited edition cherry face wash as well. I think the green clay, and Honeymoon Glow impressed me the most because they either have very immediate results and or feel different from other popular products. Both items feel like a treat and are effective rather than just overpriced and hyped up.

The honey mask is the sweetest treat! It also brightened my skin and made it look hydrated. I get dryness around my mouth and around my eyebrows and it helped nourish those areas to look normal and moisturized. The honey moisturizer has little soft honey beads in it. It feels lightweight and luxuriating. Lastly, all of the products have magnetic lids! This way the little spatula tool used to obtain product stays put on the lid.

I have a few products on my skincare wish list try out:

I’m From, Ginseng Serum (highly popular and moisturizing)

Eminence pink grapefruit mask, Eminence sour cherry mask (helps increase collagen production, contains honey, and vitamin C)

Eminence Ageless Glow Trio (anti-aging skincare set)

I hope to purchase each of theses products over the winter going into the spring and review them.

Wishing you beautiful skin and fulfilled skin care wish lists! ❤

🔎 Ingredient Investigation & New Eye Cream

I experienced skin irritation to Burts Bees drug store eye creams and decided I needed to look into the ingredients of my skincare a little more carefully. I found Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream and decided to try it out because it is sulfate-free. The eye cream does not have a strong scent and it melts gently into my skin. After about four days of use morning and night, the irritation and milia disappeared from under my eyes!

The main ingredients are paracress extract, squalane, and marine algae complex. The ingredient list has squalane listed third. This is a good sign because typically ingredients are listed in order of the amount used in the product, highest amount of ingredient to lowest amount. The first ingredient listed is water and then Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which is a more natural alternative to chemicals; it is an oily liquid made of palm kernel or coconut oil (source –

Biossance eye cream –

I recommend looking into this product or in the very least being mindful of your skincare ingredients. It’s freighting to suddenly wake up to skin irritation and it is surely a wake up call to do more research. ❤

Circcell Skincare

I got my mom some Circcell skincare products. This brand has an anti-aging line with raving reviews and the science behind the products to back it up. I’m pretty good at picking out skincare products for my mom that greatly diminish any signs of aging. Since I’ve semi taken over her skincare routine the past 2 years, she’s gotten many compliments on the youthfulness of her skin.

Her review of the products:

She thinks the serum is great because it smells luxurious. When she uses it before her makeup it makes her foundation set perfectly.

The eye cream diminished her under eye circles and puffiness.

Her day cream makes her face look less greasy and also makes her makeup look flawless.

She loves the vitamins C because she describes the smell and texture as amazing. The vitamin c ampoules made the dark spots on her neck less visible.

I recommend this brand and especially the fruit mask made with real orange, mango, passion fruit, papaya, pink grapefruit and lemon purées and essential oils, and anti-aging line. I will update on results in a month. ❤
