Let’s Get Crafty! D-I-Y Spring Door Wreath

Materials used plus scissors

Crafting is an excellent way to alleviate stress and distract the mind. Have you considered celebrating spring by creating a D-I-Y door wreath?

I purchased all of my materials from Micheals. Everything amounted to $37.39 – items used:

2.) White Mini Daisy by Ashland® (3) – 75 cents each

3.) Panacea™ Green Floral Wire, 26 Gauge (1) (To attach flowers to wreath) – $2.75

4.) Yellow Narcissus Bush by Ashland® (2) – $5.89

5.) Yellow Berry & Tea Leaf Bush by Ashland® (1) – $5.44

6.) Yellow Carnation Stem by Ashland® (1) – $2.59

Step 1

I took apart all of the flowers from the leaves to create double the amount of accessories to use with scissors.

I added the leaves from the Yellow Narcissus Bush to the back of the wreath to frame it and then put the Yellow Berry & Tea Leaf Bush on top using green floral wire to fasten each piece.

Step 2

I added the Yellow Carnation Stem to the front of the arrangement and then Yellow Narcissus Bush flowers after the Yellow Berry & Tea Leaf Bush. Lastly, I added the Mini White Daisies to the bottom with some green leaves and interspersed a few of them into the Yellow Narcissus Bush flowers.

Step 3

The wreath is all done! I would check out Pinterest for inspiration as well to get started. There are so many color and style options from lavender, to all orange, or all roses, to beach style, and wreath sizes to choose from online. StackedSkincare Body Peel

Dermaplaning at Home (Glass Skin pt. 1)

This post is an installment for a two-part series on how to achieve clear glass skin at home. My step one of glass skincare is dermaplaning.

I recommend StackedSkincare’s dermaplaning tool because it is safe to use and has more blade exposed than the typical tool. I believe effectiveness and safety are important components for dermaplaning so I recommend investing in a good tool rather than purchasing a cheap product. I use witch hazel after dermaplaning to clean up my face and close my pores.

If you purchase this product, note that changing the blade is tricky. I suggest that you always keep the cover on the blade when changing blades and use a tool to help “hit” it off the wand. The brand has a video on how to use this tool and on how to change the blade on YouTube. I also bought a pack of blade replacements from the site. I clean the tool with rubbing alcohol after each use. The blade needs to get replaced monthly.

Why is Dermaplanning Great for your Skin?

  2. Gets rid of dead skin and peach fuzz
  3. Softens skin
  4. Reduces fine lines

Peach fuzz and facial hair darken and shade your face, this is a major obstacle in the way of achieving glass skin. That’s why I recommend weekly dermaplaning at home as step 1 for glass skin. Spa-like Body Care at Home: Anti-Aging Lotion, Lip & Body Scrubs 🌼🌸🍊

It is a fantastic time to do a little spa self-care at home right now. I recommend trying out D-I-Y body scrubs made of olive oil and brown sugar, or perhaps purchasing products.

A body scrub I’ve been enjoying is Mostory Grapefruit Body Scrub. The sea salt texture is coarse enough that I feel like it is restoring my skin. I like that the scrub leaves coconut oil, vitamin C, and vitamin E on my skin so my skin does not feel dry afterward.

I enjoy using it as a final step in my spa shower routine on legs, underarms, and back. I ordered the grapefruit scent from the Mostory line on Amazon. The smell is present yet not overpowering and refreshing, a blend of citrus and grapefruit. The packaging is also nice enough that this scrub would make a nice gift as well. Cost $9.99

Another excellent scrub is the Red Roses Sugar lip scrub from NCLA. What I love about this scrub is that it leaves a chapstick like coating on your lips after you wash it off that lasts several hours. It smells so deliciously sweet like roses and strawberries and it has both vitamin C and E.

This lip scrub tastes delicious as well if any accidentally ends up in your mouth. It cost about $18 on Dolls Kill and Revolve.

No spa shower experience is complete without a body lotion and Dr. Barbara Sturm anti-aging body lotion jam-packed with antioxidants is a perfect choice. I’ve read about Dr. Barbara Sturm’s line online and I’ve wanted to try out products for a few months now.

I’m impressed by how nourishing the lotion feels. It sinks into my skin and completely changes the texture of the skin. I still noticed results the next day, and it made my skin plumper and softer immediately. I recommend using this product on your hands and neck especially. It cost around $95 online at several stores. ❤

Pat Mcgrath Labs Foundation Review

Pat McGrath Labs foundation has light-medium coverage. I purchased the foundation in shade # 17.

PROS:

I love the lightweight feel of the foundation and how natural it looks on my face. It softly blurs imperfections, but it does not completely cover them or suffocate your skin.

I love the packaging of the product in a frosted glass bottle because it looks and feels luxurious.

The quality of the product shines through in pictures because it gives the face a natural glow.

CONS:

My skin does get oily mid-day while wearing this foundation. However, my skin gets this way regardless of if I wear makeup or not. I think a mid-day powder touch-up is necessary while wearing this foundation or investment in a good shine control primer.

I recommend trying out a sample of the foundation at Sephora before purchasing to see how your skin responds. Overall, the quality shines just as with other Pat McGrath Labs products. ❤

🍓Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum 🍓

Eminence’s Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum helps plump your skin with rhubarb, strawberry, and honey. This serum also contains aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, and a bio complex made of antioxidants. The strawberry acts as a natural astringent and contains salicylic acid to brighten the skin and gently exfoliate. I decided to try out this product in my skincare rotation because it is more affordable than the Dior plump yet yields similar results.

The texture of the serum feels sticky on my fingers but not on my face. It feels like strawberry juice made if I were to squeeze a handful of strawberries in my hand. The smell is slightly sweet but it disappears over time and is not overpowering. The cost is around $48 for this serum. Do you like Eminence products? ❤

Recycled Clothing Brand & Color Inspired Outfits

Vanessa Mooney is a brand I love because its locally made in Los Angeles, CA. A major bonus is that they use recycled fabrics! I love supporting smaller businesses that encourage environmentally conscious shopping. Though I do partake in fast fashion I’m trying to cut down. I love the romantic aesthetic of Venessa Mooney’s clothing and jewelry.

I gravitate towards the 70s and 80s inspired outfits because of two distinctive points in my life. 80s fashion is dear to my heart because I grew up during a major 80s clothing revival period during the mid-2000s. I vividly remember the transition from baggy pants to colorful skinny jeans sported in hues ranging from cherry red or emerald. I would always watch my older sister and her high school friends listening to Slick Rick while wearing thick gold chains layered over short-sleeved shirts. Later I grew a likeness for the 70s inspired clothing popular in California at the time. I still enjoy the 80s and 70s fashion wave.

Brands like Venessa Mooney and Stoned Immaculate cater to vintage-inspired looks and I plan on doing my spring and summer clothing shopping at both stores. Lately, I’ve enjoyed taking pictures of nature and creating outfits based on the colors I see. ❤
