My sokoglam sheet mask collection is growing! Here are my thoughts:
COLLAGEN ESSENTIAL LIFTING & FIRMING SHEET MASK – These masks are thicker than the standard sheet mask. They help plump out your skin with hydrolyzed collagen. A key ingredient is beta-glucan, it can help cool and relax the skin and reduce redness. Read more about beta-glucan here, written work reviewed by a dermatologist.
PACKH.D.P PHOTOREADY TIGHTENING CHARCOAL MASK – This black mask is the same brand as the collagen ones listed above. These masks contain pomegranate, charcoal, and adenosine extracted from yeast. The ingredient adenosine has anti-aging properties. Read more on adenosine here.
PIBUWANG MASK – REST (5PACK) – I’ve blogged about these vegan sheet masks before. Back then, I enjoyed using them but did not understand the hype. Recently my skin became irritated and the mask did effectively soothe my skin within two days and they minimized the appearance of discoloration from irritation.
BRIGHTENING SHEET MASK SET – I have not tried every mask in the set yet. I do love that the selection of masks can change with availability, this way it feels like a surprise when purchasing. This $19 set comes with five different sheet masks!
Sensitized Skin Products:
Three sensitized skincare products I’ve enjoyed using:
Art of Skincare Hale & Hush Soothe Essence – This is a life-changing essence, no exaggeration. It makes a major difference when my skin appears irritated out of the blue. I first discovered this product as a sample. I used it when my skin became irritated with bright red bumps on my cheek. By the next morning, the irritation disappeared entirely after using this essence. I purchased it as a full-size product for the first time. I’ve used it to soothe skin irritation and I’ve found that it always helps.
The key ingredients are birch tree extract, which has inflammatory properties, sunflower seed oil to hydrate, and mirabilis Jalapa extract to support the skin barrier and more.
Art of Skincare Quick Recovery Sample Masks – This $23 set is a great way to try out different masks and see how your skin reacts. The avocado mask is gentle and moisturizing, the pudding tapioca and rice mask can help smooth out skin texture, and the pumpkin mask cleanses pores and improves skin blood circulation. Check out the links to the individual masks below. My personal favorites are the Pudding Apeel Mask and Splendid Dirt Pumpkin Mask.
BODY – Anese Coffee Oil – This vegan oil formulated for the bum with watermelon oil and coffee beans. It can help reduce cellulite. It soothes dryness or irritation on your skin and leaves it feeling supple, most notably when used in combination with a scrub beforehand. ❤
I recommend this body wash because it is affordable, pleasantly scented, lathers well, and hydrating. There’s nothing more to ask for right? Plus, this brand is cruelty-free and vegan. The smell is rose-like and not overpowering or chemical smelling.
I love body scrubs from this Mer-Sea & Co. line. The Coconut Sugar body scrub is just as lovely as Vanilla Sugar, though I prefer the Vanilla scent this coconut scent is more mellow. This scrub is perfect for those who favor coconut scents and scents that are not loud. The scrub lathers well in my hands, and the scrub itself is balanced in texture, not too hard or too soft. I recommend this scrub to bring on the summery coconut vibes.
Bring the beach home with these summer body care products.
Senorita Margarita Body Wash – The scent of this body wash is hard to describe it is lime-like but mellow smelling at the same time. There is no strong citrus smell but rather a soft clean fresh scent. It does not irritate my sensitive skin.
Tee Hut Tahitian Vanilla Bean Body Scrub – Honestly, any body scrub from the Tee Hut line is fantastic and affordable. I think this brand has the best non-greasy body scrubs for under $7. The thing that makes this body scrub summer worthy is the sand-like texture. The scent is also pleasant and not overpowering.
CoCo Glow Coconut Body Oil – I love this body oil’s summery coconut scent with notes of pineapple. It is formulated with coconut oil, sweet almond oil, rice bran oil, and jojoba seed oil. An affordable alternative to using this body oil is to just use sweet almond oil on your skin instead. Nonetheless, this oil is non-greasy, nourishing, and it smells like sunny skies and palm trees in a bottle.
Vanilla Milk Foaming Body Scrub – Heaven in a bottle, the ultimate treat, I love this delicious smelling vanilla body scrub! This brand is influenced by the ocean, so it is the perfect summer body product to bring the beach home. The scent of this body scrub is strong, in the best possible way, and lasting yet powdery, and it makes my skin and the whole bathroom for the matter smell like an expensive spa! The texture is bouncy and non-abrasive. The foaming action happens when the product is massaged in your hands or on your body. ❤
Have you ever used StackedSkincare TCA Multi-body peel? I enjoy this peel because it is effective on your skin for several days after application and continues to work after multiple regular showers. The peel has five acids that help diminish dark spots and body acne. It has Lactic acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, and Salicylic Acid to kill acne-causing bacteria, brighten, and hydrate your skin. I use this product two to three times a week as directed in the instructions.
I apply it with the silicon brush tool from Amazon in a small dish. I recommend using a silicon brush this way the bristles in a regular brush do not absorb or waste any product.
It is a fantastic time to do a little spa self-care at home right now. I recommend trying out D-I-Y body scrubs made of olive oil and brown sugar, or perhaps purchasing products.
A body scrub I’ve been enjoying is Mostory Grapefruit Body Scrub. The sea salt texture is coarse enough that I feel like it is restoring my skin. I like that the scrub leaves coconut oil, vitamin C, and vitamin E on my skin so my skin does not feel dry afterward.
I enjoy using it as a final step in my spa shower routine on legs, underarms, and back. I ordered the grapefruit scent from the Mostory line on Amazon. The smell is present yet not overpowering and refreshing, a blend of citrus and grapefruit. The packaging is also nice enough that this scrub would make a nice gift as well. Cost $9.99
Another excellent scrub is the Red Roses Sugar lip scrub from NCLA. What I love about this scrub is that it leaves a chapstick like coating on your lips after you wash it off that lasts several hours. It smells so deliciously sweet like roses and strawberries and it has both vitamin C and E.
This lip scrub tastes delicious as well if any accidentally ends up in your mouth. It cost about $18 on Dolls Kill and Revolve.
No spa shower experience is complete without a body lotion and Dr. Barbara Sturm anti-aging body lotion jam-packed with antioxidants is a perfect choice. I’ve read about Dr. Barbara Sturm’s line online and I’ve wanted to try out products for a few months now.
I’m impressed by how nourishing the lotion feels. It sinks into my skin and completely changes the texture of the skin. I still noticed results the next day, and it made my skin plumper and softer immediately. I recommend using this product on your hands and neck especially. It cost around $95 online at several stores. ❤
Purse Perfume of Choice – Floral Street, Neon Rose
Floral Street’s Neon rose makes the perfect spring purse perfume because it smells fresh and floral, but not overbearing. Additionally, I can still smell Neon Rose on my wrists after 6 hours of wear. It sinks into my skin and creates a delicate rose scent that encapsulates all things spring. This scent smells less sharp than my Floral Street Wild Vanilla Orchid fall scent.
Jo Malone Scent Mix:
Nectarine Blossom & Honey Body Lotion,Honeysuckle & Davana Cologne Scent, Blackberry & Bay Cologne
This scent mix makes warm, youthful yet sophisticated, and memorable combination. The Nectarine Blossom & Honey Body Lotion has key notes of cassis, acacia honey, peach. In my opinion, the lotion smells like sweat peachy champagne. It immediately sinks into my skin and leaves a soft sweet-smelling fragrance. It pairs beautifully with the Honeysuckle & Davana Cologne and Blackberry & Bay cologne. This scent combination is fruit meets honey and it makes a lasting impression. ❤
Are you familiar with Dermstore? If you love skincare you should be, they sell premium skincare, body care, hair and skin vitamins, plus more. I’ve created a Dermstore profile page with favorite products saved. One body care product, in particular, is extraordinary, the REN Clean Skincare body serum. Wow, I don’t know what life was before this serum. It has transformed and evened out my skin tremendously.
This coupled with the Glow vitamin I wrote about in my last post has finally taken my body care to a new level. The skin on my body has cleared up. I no longer get back acne or body acne in general, and small breakouts are more infrequent.
The key ingredients are lactic acid, xylitol, and probiotics, to strengthen the skin barrier, improve texture, and increase hydration. I’m delighted and hope to keep up this routine for years to come. ❤
About two months ago I purchased the Korean Bath Mitts that I’ve blogged about being on my wishlist in the past from Amazon. I like using it in the shower with a hydrating body wash. I’ve been enjoying the Soap & Glory line from Walgreens.
Soap & Glory products can also be purchased at Ulta and Target. I have the Oat, Sugar, and Shea Butter Scrub and Magnificoco Clean-A-Colada Body Wash made with coconut and green tea extract. What I love about this scrub is that it doesn’t leave my skin with an oily film and it doesn’t get watery with regular use. There is the perfect amount of scrub that it feels effective yet not abrasive. The body wash works perfectly with the Korean Bath Mitt and leaves my skin hydrated. ❤
